This time — this particular moment in history — is woven deeply with challenge and turmoil. Each day seems to bring more bad news, more chaos, more destruction. The overwhelm of not only living in, but loving, a wildly broken and beleaguered world is a heavy load to carry. And, indeed, an impossible load to carry alone. Many of us find ourselves at the edges of systems — religious, political, ecological, and otherwise — that hold value and yet have strayed far from what is lifegiving and sustaining. Living in these liminal spaces offers us a rich ground for spiritual journeying, for holding the questions of vocation and calling, and for connecting with other like-spirited seekers.
Our religious traditions hold within them resources for times of apocalypse, and although individual practices are vital, community and connection are the ballasts which give us strength and steadiness for the work we must do. Whatever faith tradition you claim — or if you consider yourself to be spiritual but not religious — group spiritual practices allow us to open to the possibilities of what is ours to do, individually and collectively, in this time.
This spring, The BTS Center is offering the opportunity to join a group circle for spiritual accompaniment. Facilitated by skilled and credentialed leaders, and drawing on the deep traditions and practices of spiritual direction, these circles offer space to connect, to ask complex and vital questions, to engage in contemplative practices, and to be in community with other seekers.
As a culminating component of this program, all participants in Spiritual Accompaniment Circles will be invited to attend a half-day online retreat in Fall 2025. More details about this offering will be available when the Circles begin.
If you have questions about these circles or are wondering if this offering is a good fit for you — or if you would like to suggest a day / time that is not listed currently, in the event that we add more circles — please contact Ash Temin at ash@thebtscenter.org.
Program fee: $200
All groups are now full. Thank you for your interest.
