Tyler Mark Nelson is a community educator, ecotheologian, and creation justice advocate. In collaboration with nonprofits, universities, and community organizations, he creates opportunities for people to deepen their relationships within the community of creation while responding to planetary polycrisis. He recently directed and co-designed the Living Earth Community program with the Yale Forum on Religion and Ecology, an evolving knowledge commons integrating science, Earth law, and Earth-based spiritualities. Currently he is working on a series of experimental projects that address specific ecological issues through music and spirituality. He also DJs at a freeform community radio station, WPKN 89.5FM, where he manages underwriting and strategic partnerships. Prior to joining the Board, Tyler worked with The BTS Center as an intern, program consultant, and public ritual design team member. He earned an MDiv from Yale Divinity School and a BA in Theology from Whitworth University. Raised in Minnesota, Tyler now lives in Connecticut with his wife, Sara, where they hike, read, and share coffee with friends.
