Climate Conscious Chaplaincy 101

Climate conscious chaplains and spiritual care providers offer relief and support to victims of natural and human-caused disasters and to communities of faith that provide pastoral care.

Climate change is not only a predicament of unprecedented speed and scale, but it is also a spiritual crisis, causing for many a shift in belief, meaning, purpose, and hope.

Climate conscious chaplaincy is still a nascent field of practice. But the need is only increasing for responsive, skilled, compassionate spiritual care. Below, you’ll find a cursory list of definitions and introductions to climate conscious chaplaincy – many written by climate chaplains, themselves.
