Fiction is a means of telling the truth. Not only can fiction illuminate the systems and silences that have created our planetary crisis, but a story at its best is a lantern through the cavern of our fears and hopes.
When you join the Fiction Book Club, we’ll share more details with you about each upcoming book and session.
What good is imagination in a time of crisis?
Story is our species’ instinct and inheritance. Storytelling is meaning-making — the way we make sense of life, truth, and beauty.
Through it, we envision compelling and creative possibilities for our social, spiritual, ecological, political, and economic ways of being. Even our sacred texts and oral traditions teach us that, when faced with enormous obstacles, the pathways toward healing and transformation begin by stepping into a story that is larger than our circumstances.
Through the Fiction Book Club, we hope you’ll experience an exercise in meaning-making — a way to make sense of the hurting, beautiful, and singular planet we call home.
