Rev. Dr. Daniel Carlson is a minister of Word and Sacrament within the Reformed Church in America. Raised and educated in Michigan, upon ordination he served three congregations in upstate NY. Most recently he was Associate Minister of First Reformed Church of Schenectady for nearly two decades. During that time and in collaboration with others he led the congregation in their journey to make the care of creation a central priority.
Happily married and grateful for friendships with his adult sons, Daniel delights in this world of wonders, which God loves and has entrusted to our service and protection. He continues to preach, preside, protest, as well as facilitate ecumenical discussions of the church’s response to our current overlapping crises including extreme climate change. He serves on the board of Creation Justice Ministries and provides coaching for congregations seeking to center creation justice and effective climate action.
