Ian Carlsen (he/him) serves on The BTS Center staff as Communications Associate. Before working at The BTS Center, he was a freelance and agency-based creative media producer, but at various times he has also been an actor, copywriter, university lecturer, bird guide, mascot, internal auditor, screenwriter, poet, political canvasser, and fishmonger.

He is excited to engage with The BTS Center’s mission to find and foster spaces of refugia – both physical and spiritual, within and without – to build resilience for what is to come.

Ian is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine (BA). He currently resides in Pownal with his wife, Marjolaine, and his son, Robin. He is an avid birder, enjoys history, and loves a good tabletop role-playing game.
