Poetry + The Prophetic Voice: A Book Study
“Resistance and change often begin in art, and
very often in our art – the art of words.”
— Ursula K. LeGuin
You Are Here Book

Poetry offers us language — not always to “make sense” of our circumstances, but to find rhythms and resonances in the caverns of heart and soul that strengthen our capacity to live in mystery and to build new systems of thriving.

The BTS Center invites you to an exploration of poetry as spiritual and civic practice. We’ll use as our primary text the anthology You Are Here: Poetry in the Natural World, edited by former U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón.

Registration for this program includes attendance at our spring public event, Lilac in May: Art & Resistance, with poet Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer, artist Madeleine Jubilee Saito, and musician Aly Halpert. Click to learn more about this event.

Each week, we’ll engage with poems from the collection in conversation with short prophetic texts drawn from scripture and theology, woven with conversation and spiritual practice.
