Rachel Grivois
Rachel established her own accounting, business and tax practice in 1997, after working as a public accountant and controller for over 11 years. Rachel started her accounting career with the CPA firm of Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker after she graduated from Husson University in 1984. She went on to accounting positions in the private sector as an in-house managerial accountant setting up state-of-the art accounting and computer systems in manufacturing, construction, retail and wholesale operations.
Since 1997, Rachel has assisted small to mid-size businesses throughout Central and Eastern Maine with services ranging from business start-ups to business turn-around plans. She works tirelessly with clients to create meaningful accounting systems, train staff, develop effective budgets and analyze financial reports for the overall success of organizations. As a mentor, she assists business owners and managers in understanding financial statements and business indicators. Her common sense approach and business acumen makes her a natural extension of her clients’ management teams.
Rachel’s business and finance experience includes working with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in the restructuring of Savings and Loan Banks throughout New England. Rachel also facilitated corporate manufacturing mergers, including the complex merger of different corporate accounting systems. She has assisted small to mid-size organizations succeed even in challenging economic times.
She served as a voice for all small businesses in her role as an Advisory Council Member with the Maine Small Business Development Centers.
As a certified FastTrac instructor, Rachel trains business owners and managers while lending her well-rounded business knowledge to the classroom environment. FastTrac is a nationally recognized entrepreneurial training program created by the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. It has won the Small Business Administration’s Model of Excellence Award for entrepreneurial training. FastTrac is one of America’s leading entrepreneurial training programs.
Rachel really enjoys the autonomy, flexibility and independence of her own accounting practice. Her clients range from start-up ventures to seasoned multi-million dollar organizations. Rachel has experience with international trade issues, letters of credit and international collections. A native of Northern Maine, she is fluent in both English and French.
